Back in 1900, sponge divers off Antkythera came across some old artefacts, sculptures and mechanisms. One of these mechanisms turned out to be something that is considered to be an ancient computer. An extremely complex device with over 37 different gear wheels, its true purpose and intention is still unknown. Some believe that it would have been used to predict solar and lunar eclipses based on Babylonian arithmetic progression cycles.

Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos decided in 2013, some 44 years after the Apollo 11 mission put the first men on the moon, that it was time to salvage the engines that were used for take off. Their discovery and excavation from the bottom of the Atlantic remained a secret until they were positively identified. They are now being restored and prepared to go on display at The Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Centre.
